I've been making art since I was a kid, and I turned it into a career. I have a fine-arts degree, and I spent years as an elementary-school art docent and running summer creativity camps, usually with my own daughters right there in the mix. I built the adult classes myself and tested them until they felt right.

Here's what I kept seeing. Everyone I know is stretched thin. Work, the news, the kids, the bills, the mental to-do list that never ends. Almost no one gets a real break from it.

That's the break I make. In my classes, your hands stay busy with color, paint, and simple steps. Your focus drops to whatever is in front of you. Nothing to fix, nothing to decide, nothing to be good at. People leave calmer than they came, and a little of that stays with them for days.

So I take out everything that makes art feel like a test. No skills to master. No blank page to stare at. No finished piece you have to be proud of. Just easy steps, good materials, and a room where you can't do it wrong.

It works a little differently depending on who's at the table. Kids need room to make their own choices with barely any direction, because that's how creativity and confidence grow. Grown-ups need the other kind of room, somewhere the busy mind finally goes quiet. Same table, two ways to breathe.
